Your Yorkies
are so calm. And they are so well behaved. These are some of the comments I get when my 5 pound Yorkshire terriers Schmitty & Pudge are out and
about. Why are they so surprised? Small dogs are not just
cute accessories to put in designer bags. Just like big dogs, small
dogs bark, jump, and have teeth. And small dogs poop too!
Besides good nutrition and lots of exercise, learning good manners will help
your pooch have a happy and healthy life.
Of course, humans need training
too. Dogs know how to be dogs. Its us humans who need to learn to
live with them. There is no magic potion. Training your dog
and learning to communicate with your dog takes time and patience.
But if you put in the effort, you and your dog can have a wonderful life
together.
Schmittys Healthy
Dos & Donts 2010 calendar is the perfect gift to help pet parents help their pets live a
healthy, happy and hopefully longer life. In this yorkie calendar,
along with fun pics, there are valuable tips on nutrition, oral care, exercise,
puppy class, travel - just to name a few - all from Schmittys P.O.V.
Plus, a portion of the proceeds goes to DOGS
WHO CARE, a foundation to help pets in shelters find loving homes.
If Schmittys 2010
Yorkie calendar can help to make a difference in the lives of pet parents and
their dogs big and small, maybe someday there wont be a need for animal
shelters at all. Wouldnt that be nice!
Why Schmittys Healthy Dos And Donts 2010 Calendar?
By Elly McGuire Pet Advocate
Living in New York City is a contact sport.
Everyday I walk my Yorkies, Schmitty & Pudge around our Upper West Side neighborhood and it never fails - I bump
into strangers and neighbors who want to say, Hi. Not to me mind you,
but to my dogs. Since Schmitty & Pudge have a high profile from
all their charity work, appearances and signature New Yorkie greeting
cards, Yorkie
calendars and New Yorkie apparel
and totes inevitably, someone recognizes them. Or just wants to
meet and pet them.
This pressing of the flesh daily with
humans always leads to questions about dog care. What does Schmitty
eat, how does her coat look so healthy, what do you do about their teeth?
Add to that my runs in Central
Parkwhere I see dogs dying for a drink of water while running with their
unaware pet parents or pups overheating in the sun with no shade in sight - all
these experiences were the inspiration for this years Schmittys
Healthy Dos and Donts calendar.
Experts in the field of pet training,
pet nutrition, oral pet care and pet insurance also contributed to Schmittys
Healthy Dos and Donts 2010 Calendar.
